The Translation

BAS means enough.

In Punjabi, from Persian — a single syllable that closes a sentence. Not deprivation. Not scarcity. Sufficiency. The quiet certainty that what is here is what is needed. The brand is built on three beats of that word.

i · Arrival Enough when you arrived.
ii · Return Enough when you return.
iii · Embodied Enough, embodied, now.

You began with a breath. You'll return to the soil. Everything in between — every product you reach for, every ritual you keep — deserves that same honesty. Breath and soil are the bookends. Enough is the posture.

If you have been looking for this,
you are already home.

You can put all of it down.
You are here now.

We are not asking you to add to your routine. We are asking you to subtract from it. Four ingredients in place of forty. Two rituals in place of twelve. One season at a time. Enough, translated into a bottle.

The Philosophy

More than a brand. A way back to enough.

The modern economy profits from convincing you that what you have is never enough — that you are never enough. BAS is the quiet answer. Not a brand that sells you more, but a philosophy that asks: what if restraint was the innovation?

You began with a breath.
You'll return to the soil.
Everything in between
deserves that same honesty.

They sold you more and left you emptier. But something in you knew. The way your body contracted, the way your body expanded. All the subtleties. I am here to remind you: your body has always held the wisdom.

Welcome home.

The Founder

The person who couldn't look away.

Navi Kaur Natt. Brooklyn, New York. Daughter of a farming lineage — granddaughter of people who read the earth the way other people read the weather. She started BAS because someone had to. And she couldn't look away any longer.

After years of seeing folks around me poison themselves through the things they applied to their face, hair, and teeth — I decided I had to create something. If I wasn't going to do it, who was? — Navi
BAS · 01 · The First Offering

BAS·Skin

Old wisdom. New urgency. Four ingredients per formula. Two rituals per day. One season at a time. This is BAS's first proof — four considered ingredients, lived out in a 15ml amber bottle.

01 · The Four

Four ingredients. That is the whole formula.

Every product contains exactly four botanical ingredients. No fillers. No preservatives. No emulsifiers. Nothing to extend shelf life at the cost of yours. Knowing which four ingredients matter is harder than throwing forty into a jar.

02 · The Two

Morning skin is not evening skin.

Your skin shifts with the light. Morning formulas are built for protection and vitality. Evening formulas support restoration and repair. Two rituals — not routines — synchronized with your body's own intelligence.

03 · The Seasons

We walk with you through every turn.

What your skin needs in February is not what it needs in August. We reformulate seasonally — four collections a year — because static formulas for dynamic skin never made sense. Your ritual shifts as the earth shifts.

Spring Collection · BAS · 01

The opening ritual.

Spring skin is waking up. It needs lightness, hydration, gentle encouragement. Two rituals — morning and evening — each with exactly four ingredients. Nothing else touches the bottle.

Hydrosol Mist · 60ml

Pure Bulgarian rose hydrosol. One ingredient. Nothing else. The first touch of morning — naturally acidic to support the skin's acid mantle, hydrating without weight, and scented the way the flower intended. Mist on clean skin; let the oil follow.

The morning shield. Prickly pear seed anchors the formula — one of the highest vitamin E concentrations in any botanical oil. Pomegranate seed brings punicic acid. Lavender and geranium regulate, calm, and wake the skin the way spring does — quietly, insistently.

Helichrysum italicum — the "everlasting flower" — distilled to its water. The toner that tells the skin the day is done. Mist after cleansing; let the PM oil seal what the hydrosol opens. Slightly acidic, so it works with the acid mantle, not against it.

Four seasons. Four formulas. One house.

Your skin's needs change with the earth. Cold, dry air demands different care than humid summer heat. We reformulate every season — not a variation, a rethinking — and every expression is filed under the same mark.

The Science of Four

How the four work together.

Each ingredient was chosen not just for what it does alone, but for how it works with the other three. This is synergy by design — four ingredients in conversation, not in a lineup.

Morning Formula

Protect · Energize · Shield
Prickly Pear Seed Oil
Opuntia Ficus-Indica

The anchor. One of the highest vitamin E concentrations of any botanical oil, plus vitamin K. High in linoleic acid. Absorbs quickly, which makes it unusually compatible with daytime wear. One ton of fruit produces one liter — this is concentration, not scarcity.

Pomegranate Seed Oil
Punica Granatum

The protector. Rich in punicic acid (omega-5), a rare fatty acid with studied antioxidant properties. Supports the appearance of resilient, even-toned skin as the day brings its environmental load.

Lavender Essential Oil
Lavandula Angustifolia

The regulator. Linalool and linalyl acetate compounds are known for soothing properties. At the right concentration, lavender supports both overactive and underactive skin — an adaptogen in essential oil form.

Geranium Essential Oil
Pelargonium Graveolens

The balancer. Known for astringent qualities that help skin look tighter and more toned without drying. One of the few essential oils that reads the skin and adjusts accordingly.

Evening Formula

Restore · Renew · Rebuild
Tamanu Oil
Calophyllum Inophyllum

The restorative. Used in Polynesian traditional practice for centuries for skin support. Contains calophyllolide, a compound not found in any other oil, known for soothing properties. Thick, rich, and designed for overnight care.

Rosehip Seed Oil
Rosa Canina

The plant retinoid. Contains naturally-occurring trans-retinoic acid in a whole-plant matrix. High in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids that support the appearance of a healthy skin barrier. The plant had it first; industry synthesized it later.

Chamomile Essential Oil
Matricaria Chamomilla

The calmer. Chamazulene (which gives it a blue tint) and bisabolol are widely recognized for soothing properties. Helps skin look calm and helps reactive-looking skin settle overnight.

Frankincense Essential Oil
Boswellia Carterii

The closer. Boswellic acids are known for supporting the appearance of firm, youthful-looking skin. Used in Ayurvedic practice for thousands of years. The timekeeper of the evening ritual — it tells the skin the day is finished.

The Research

What most products contain. Why it matters.

9–15
Products daily

The average person uses 9 to 15 personal care products every day. Each adds its own cocktail of compounds to the body's chemical load.

515+
Synthetic chemicals

Those products expose the body to over 515 unique synthetic compounds daily. Many have never been tested for long-term safety. Some are known endocrine disruptors.

4
BAS ingredients

Every BAS formula contains exactly four botanical ingredients. Restraint on purpose. Less isn't a limitation — it's a philosophy.

The endocrine question.

Your endocrine system is the body's chemical messaging network — hormones that regulate everything from metabolism to mood to reproductive health. When synthetic compounds mimic or block these hormones, the consequences cascade.

Here's what peer-reviewed research has identified in common skincare ingredients:

Parabens (methyl-, propyl-, butyl-): Widely used preservatives found in up to 85% of personal care products. Multiple studies have demonstrated estrogenic activity. Detected in human breast tissue samples. The EU has restricted some parabens; the US has not.

Phthalates (DEP, DBP, DEHP): Used as solvents and fragrance stabilizers. Classified as endocrine disruptors by the European Commission. Often hidden under the catch-all term fragrance — which legally does not require ingredient disclosure.

Synthetic musks (galaxolide, tonalide): Fragrance compounds that bioaccumulate — meaning they build up in the body over time. Found in human breast milk and fat tissue. Suspected endocrine disruptors.

Phenoxyethanol: Marketed as a "natural" preservative alternative. A synthetic compound that can cause skin irritation and has shown reproductive effects in animal studies. Better than parabens is not the same as good.

Why botanical oils read differently to the body.

Botanical oils contain fatty acid profiles the skin recognizes because they mirror the lipids the skin produces naturally. Linoleic acid, oleic acid, palmitic acid — not foreign molecules. The building blocks the skin already uses.

When you apply a synthetic ingredient, the skin has to figure out what it is. When you apply a cold-pressed botanical oil, the skin recognizes the structure and integrates it into its existing processes. That's not marketing — that's lipid biochemistry.

Four ingredients can outperform a formula of forty. Not because it does less. Because it does what the skin already understands.

A Note from The Elder

The body was never broken. It was simply not spoken to in its own language. This brand is the small attempt to say one true thing. In four ingredients. In two rituals. In one word.

You arrived on a breath. You will return to soil. Everything in between is your own quiet work. Let this brand be a hand that extends what your grandmother already knew — and that your body already remembers.

Keep a Seat

There is a seat kept
for you.

The Collective is not a list. It is the beginning of a small room — of people who have arrived at the same quiet conclusion: that what touches the body should be something the body can recognize.

The door is narrow right now. A note when Spring ships. A word when the earth turns. As the room thickens — as it becomes a room, not a list — we will open it wider. You will be the first invited deeper in.

A seat is kept.

For now, only a quiet note when the bottles ship and a seasonal word when the earth turns. As the Collective grows into itself, you will be the first invited further in. Nothing that chases you. Nothing in between.

Your seat is kept. We will write when Spring shows us it's time. — The BAS Collective
We'll only write when it matters.
